I agree rodger. Have you listened to the audio link? I believe it's a good explanation why this doctrine is so deceptive to salvation.

ISA 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

If one believes one can go to hell after Jesus died for one's transgressions then one does not believe He died for one's trangressions and one was probably never saved in the first place.

If a debt has been paid, and the payment was accepted by the One owed, and legally the payment of a debt cannot be refused, then the debt is cancelled?
What we owed to God was paid by God and now we owe Him nothing but unending gratitude.

John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Whoever puts their trust in Jesus will be raised up by Jesus. Whoever puts their trust in keeping the law will go to hell.
Whoever believes that they must pay for their sins do not believe Jesus died for their sins and they will go to hell. If one believes one must spend time in purgatory then one does not believe Jesus died for their sins and they will find that their temporary purgatory is really their home forever.

PS 32:1 Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.

RO 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Yes, it is the TRUTH
Once saved always saved.
Thee question is are you saved or Not, currently.
Those who believe that a True child of God can somehow lose there salvation are either --->
(1) Unbelievers, Not saved, still relying on themselves, there god plus there obedience.
(2) They are Believers, In Him (Only)...BUT they are still immature concerning salvation. --->
(2a) His Word says to work out thy salvation with fear and trembling (ponder it, etc).
1John 5:13 reads -->
write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
(2b) i had a proud religious fella tell me he knew he had eternal life PLUS he knew that a person could still lose there salvation, YIKES...
(2c) Woe, such pride in keeping one's salvation...probably because your not saved,
as He writes....the simplicity of the Gospel is FOOLISHNESS to Those whom ARE perishing.
See the Famous Matthew 7:23 --->
Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
---------------------------------------------------------------

read it and weep Ye Religious People....He NEVER knew You
Repent and Live
(repent, metanoe = change mind) --->
FROM remaining LIKE Satan,
whom boasted that he would exhalt himself above the heavens,
ie self-righteousness,
You who Truly think they can Lose there Salvation are boasting in YOUR do's &/or don'ts - WOE
Eric
1John 4:10....going to heaven cuz He loves me (not cuz i love Him, ask Him to humble Ye)
