| It does not really matter what is posted, even if Jesus posted it Him self, many would disagree because of what they are geared to believe. freeman4: |

I note the general temperment of participants here; that we are academic and considerate at the same time. Many are willing to debate their position vehemently, but not personally. That's important for the effective consideration of ideas I think. Does any one person have a complete understanding of religion, politics and social change? Probably not, but there are a lot of us who know the small pieces well and can share their understanding in the forum of our common Christian heritage. In the process of digesting these little pieces, the body is made healthy and aware. What are we 'geared to believe'? I think most participants here are 'geared' to thoughtfully consider what they are reading. I have been tossed from Muslim and Mormon sites for raising simple questions. They are 'geared' to reject much. Such questions here are welcomed and debated. This atmosphere allows for a healthy examination of the interpretation of ideas, scripture and events. I feel confident that if Jesus Himself posted a line or two here, His words would at least be considered. After all, isn't that what He wants from us in the first place...to listen and think about what He's saying? I am convinced it wouldn't happen that way on other sites.

| I think it is extremely important... It is part of God's Word and everything is important. Some things may not be unveiled to us at this time, but we are to "Study to show ourselves approved". In doing this we ask for His guidance and caution ourselves on what we believe and teach... The 12 tribes are God's people that He chose...and it was through them and their faith that brought about Christ. If many of them didn't recognize their Messiah when He came, how about us? Will we? If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have the faith we have now... So they are important. My question lies in those that God scattered and didn't come back.... The ones who mixed and lost, who they were.... their nationality, their ancestry. Those that may have embraced other religions, cultures throughout generations... The curse of Deut. where God said He would scatter and bring them back after generations.... There could be those "lost" who are these. Who don't know who they are. I am learning that many tackle this issue...with the Aryan race, the native Americans, etc. We can get dangerous with this thought and think we could be the ones and set ourselves up as special and become prideful. However, I am curious if this thought fits into scripture and "prophesy". lasa |

I believe that God's promises to physical Israel were only until Christ. The promises were always to the seed. It was to Abraham and his seed, to Isaac and his seed. It was to Jacob and his seed, and from Jacob the seed was passed on to Judah. So the promise was to Judah and his seed. Eventually from Judah came David, and from that time the promise was to David and his seed. Finally we have the seed. Paul said the promise was not to seeds as in many, but to the seed, the ons seed, and this one seed ends in Yeshua, son of Yoseph. One the seed came to whom the promises were to, then tehre was no longer a reason to have a physical people. Up to the time of Jesus, people worshiped God in the flesh, it was by carnal ordinances. But as Jesus said to the woman at the well, the time was coming when people would no longer worship God in the flesh, they would no longer worship him in a physical place, but it would be in the spirit. So we are told that Jesus was made manifest in the last days. But last days of what? I believe it was the last days of Israel. After the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD, Israel was no more. So there was the 40 years from Jesus to the destruction when Israel was being gathered. But this was a spiritual gathering. But there is also a physical gathering, but I believe this is in the resurrection. There will be a resurrection of the just (righteous) and the unjust (unrighteous). I believe in the resurrection that people will be raise either to life, or to judgment. Those who are raised to life will be the rulers, those who are raised to judgment will be raised to live under a just rule (rulers). So I believe there will come a time when Isa 29:24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine. God says to Jerusalem, Eze 16:53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then [will I bring again] the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them: Eze 16:54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them. Eze 16:55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate. And I have to get going. |

There have been Jews that have intermarried and assimilated with other nations and as a result there are probably many people today who are part of Israel but don't know it. But God knows who they are and he will take care of them. |

| I agree.... God knows and He knows what he is doing. I am still going over all the scriptures posted and with my own study... but am still nagged by some things. I can't pin point it yet. I have also had a "thought" about those of the Jewish faith who converted to Christianity...and the generations from there. Anyway, I will stop posting until I get my thoughts in order. Thanks... lasa |
