"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State."
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Danbury Baptist Association, CT., Jan. 1, 1802

"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter."
-Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823

"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it."
- John Adams

"If God has spoken, why is the world not convinced?"
- Percy Bysshe Shelley

All necessary proof has been provided in heaven and on earth.
The issue is not proof.
The issue is acceptance.

Jesus said:
"men loved the darkness rather than the light"
John 3:19

"If I told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you heavenly things?"
John 3:11

"Don't tell me how to live," is the first commandment of the atheist, the thief, the murderer, the rebel and the fool.

Human society is based upon mutual cooperation, respect and acceptance.
As it is on earth so it is in the Kingdom of God.

This is one I've always liked: E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many One)
The original motto of the United States of America. Changed in 1956 to "In God we Trust". I think the original was more inclusive and in keeping with the intent of the US Founding Fathers when drafting the Constitution.

From 1776 to 1956, the motto of the Great Seal was also used as the official motto. This is what was changed in 1956 by the US Congress. The motto of the coinage.

Got you, but of a fact we do hold this truth to be self evident that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights and we do so with a firm reliance of divinie Providence. So, of a truth, In GOD we Trust.
