Re the sins of America, it is a fact, sad but true, that most of the dictators in the third world are installed and/or supported by the CIA. The deal is basically, the dictator is allowed to become filthy rich, and the capitalist corporations are allowed to loot the country's resources for next to nothing; this while the people suffer.

Think about it : Batista, Cuba; Shah Resi Pah Lavi, Iran; Somoza, Nicaragua; Duvalier, Haiti; Trujillo, Dominican Republic; Mobutu Sese Seko, Zaire; Diem, Ngyen Cao Ky, Thieu, and others, South Vietnam; Pinochet, Chile; Marcos, Philipines; Noriega, Panama; Dwarte, El Salvador; I don't know all of them; but the list is endless.

Now consider the amount of worldwide suffering this practice causes. Her sins have reached up to heaven indeed! The Pinochet coup, which overthrew the democratically elected Allende government, alone killed 30,000 Chileans. The CIA got caught redhanded in that one.

Re North America being comprized of "Babylon" (The U.S.A.) and "Chaldea" (Canada), see my blog at this site.

Jesus IS able, whatever our nation, he is our strong tower, we are salt AND light. Sometimes a nation drifts and loses its spiritual direction. Sometimes leaders and others, for some misguided reason, fear to speak of the power of the Christian message. When this takes place its up to us to BE, witness and proclaim the power, love and judgment of the Lord. Remember Jesus said. "I have overcome the world." Dave.

Dear Dave:

I wholly agree with your encouraging words of the role Christians are to assume in these difficult days. It may be helpful to remember that there were a number of true Christians who lived and served Our Lord in Europe during the days of the rule of NAZI Germany.

You said that leaders fear to speak the power of the gospel "for some misguided reason". The reasons are not unknown. Several decades ago, Billy Graham stated those reasons quite clearly; sex and money. Those are the chief pitfalls for Christian leaders. For the secular world, one may add power and influence to the list of baits which the enemy employs to seize the human will.

Corrie Ten Boom, who I once met, spent time in a concentration camp for her participation in the underground railroad for Jewish refugees (in Holland I believe). She said that Christ was there - even in the deepest hole they put her in.

I pray that things don't get that bad here, but if they do we can rejoice in the knowledge that Our Lord will not leave us without hope....or a witness.

God told Abraham he would spare Sodom if he could find ten righteous people in it. If we are faithful in proclaiming the gospel perhaps one of the results will be that there will be enough righteous people in American to protect it from God's judgment.

I've commented on this in other forums and will keep it brief here. The Holy Spirit appears to be calling upon Christians from one coast of America to the other. He is calling for Christians to rid themselves of petty sins and habits and to remember and embrace once more His grace and loving companionship.

The call is insistant and consistant.

The focus of His call is upon personal Holiness and dedication to Christ. Nothing else seems to be of importance to Him and that is why I write the things I write. For some reason known only to Him we are to focus on the cross rather than nationalism and flags.
It is important, perhaps critically so.
I concede that such an attitude has always been close to His heart, but these days it seems to be doubly so.

Given the current spiritual condition of the world and our country I prefer to err on the side of caution and obediance (and a great deal of trust).

"Take away the wicked from the presence of the king and his throne will be established in righteiousness." Proverbs 25:5
President Obama doesn't govern alone but is surrounded by helpers and advisors who have an influence on him for good or evil. One thing we should pray for is that God will remove from their postions those whose influence on Obama is bad and replace them with people who will have good influence on him. God placed Daniel in a postion where he could have a good influence on Nebuchadnezzar. We should pray that God will send another Daniel to have the same kind of influence with Obama.
